HOME EDUCATION COMES OF AGE IN AFRICA! DON’T MISS THIS CONFERENCE AND EXPO OPPORTUNITY!

AFRICAN HOME EDUCATION  INDABA  2019

1st AFRICAN CONFERENCE HOSTED IN PRETORIA, SOUTH AFRICA, ON 17 – 19 OCTOBER 2019

ABOUT THE AFRICAN HOME EDUCATION INDABA

Join home educators from across Africa and the globe for the first African Home Education Indaba – an opportunity to gather together and to celebrate liberty in learning.

This year the Indaba will be hosted in South Africa, from 17-19 October, 2019: three days of learning, sharing and fellowship with like-minded people. Become part of the global homeschooling family: Come and meet fellow homeschoolers from all the countries that will be represented: South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Namibia, the US, Canada and Russia. Come and encourage each other and be inspired by stories of hope and perseverance, of changed lives and restored families.

During the Global Home Education Conference 2018 in Russia, the African delegates formed an African subcommittee of the Global Home Education Exchange (ghex.world) and decided to organise an African Home Education Indaba. The purpose of the Indaba is to advance, connect, and equip the African home education community in exercising the right to home educate.

Come and experience South African hospitality, and use the opportunity to tour the beautiful country. Invite your friends who need information on home education. Themes that will be dealt with by experts from Africa, the US, Canada and Europe include legal and practical aspects, curriculum options, research and support in home education.

Delicious food and drink will be provided by homeschooling entrepreneurs, and there are rumours that homeschooling musicians will also display their talents during the Indaba.

Stand up for your child’s right to education! Home education is well-protected in international law. Parents have the right to direct the education of their children and each child has the right to receive an individualized education that best suits their needs and goals. This concept cuts across cultures, methods, and beliefs. While home educators in South Africa and across the continent are in a constant battle against government encroachment upon family and parental rights, home education is the fastest growing sector in education today – and is saving lives and families by the thousands.

Don’t miss this Indaba! Home Education has come of age in Africa – but the best is yet to come!
